What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC OPERATOR- 1st Shift (6am-2pm) position at Anchor Packaging LLC?
MAIN JOB FUNCTION
Run and set up Highspeed CNC machine for the manufacture of production tooling.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Perform hand finishing of complex aluminum 3D molds by using stick sanding and wheel polishing.
- Edit CNC programs for the manufacture of tooling components, sample molds and production molds.
- Choose appropriate tools for the variables in programs, including speeds, feeds, shapes, surfaces, tool paths, depths, angles, backdrilled holes, etc. Correct issues on the fly.
- Verify accuracy and outcome of program through standard inspection techniques.
- Complete required documentation for completion and inspection of CNC components.
- Assist programmers in troubleshooting during machining operations.
- Contribute toward setting CNC operation standards for ease of manufacture and communicating these parameters to programming personnel as necessary.
- Perform machine maintenance as needed.
- Maintenance of CNC equipment-Preventative care of tooling and equipment required to complete and meet all mold and component standards.
- Assist in training.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
3 years experience with CNC, to include setting up CNC machines; and manual machining techniques.
Excellent shop math, including geometry, trigonometry, and measuring.
Knowledge of various cutting tools.
Basic computer experience, including Windows applications.
Computer Aided Manufacturing experience preferred.
Must have a understanding of all food safety standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
STANDING: Must be able to work in the shop area for long periods of time.
BENDING: May need to bend in order to inspect and complete machining operations.
REACHING: Must be able to use a computer and make adjustments to CNC equipment.
LIFTING: Must lift up to 50 lbs. for tooling installation.
MANUAL Must be able to use a computer and telephone and make machine adjustments.
DEXTERITY:
VISUAL: Must be able to use a computer, read schematics and project requirements, and detect small flaws in machined components.
SPEECH: Must be able to communicate in person and over the phone.
HEARING: Must be able to communicate in person and over the phone.
