OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide support to the Design Manager and Engineering team through developing and designing production tools to be produced by the Tool Room. Coordinate with the Design Manager for the resources necessary to achieve such objectives, while meeting safety, quality, efficiency, and scrap goals of the company.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and design component tooling and detail drawings for Tool Room production.
- Detail and change drawings when a new design is completed, or when an existing design has been changed, either while in development or as a result of an ECN.
- Ensure that tooling components are produced to design specifications.
- Source and order raw materials for tooling production.
- Assist in CAD work for sample part production.
- Assist in the trouble-shooting and corrective action process when a nonconformance is discovered in the design process.
- Assist in maintaining departmental procedures and documentation to ensure ISO certification.
- Keep informed on the current engineering and drafting techniques including but not limited to literature, seminars, and classes.
- Contribute to and participate in the professional development of the design and engineering departments and Company.
- Carry out any special projects that are assigned by the Design Manager.
- Assist with all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Two (2) year technical degree in related area.
Computer skills: CAD software, preferably SolidWorks; word processing, preferably
Microsoft Word; spreadsheet development, preferably Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent math skills.
Knowledge of product development and engineering documentation processes.
Self-directed.
Must have understanding of all food safety standards.
