12 month contract enagement MUST be a US Citizen & local to Indianapolis, IN
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing and designing electronic enclosures for use with aero gas turbine engines. In this role, the Design Engineer ensures the enclosures definition meets the project requirements from concept through to qualification test. You will be responsible for supporting global programs.
Key Accountabilities:
• Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines
• Support creation of detailed drawings and model-based definition and support project/manufacturing to procure conforming hardware
• Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions
• Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosure.
• Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (i.e. RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering with 5 years of design experience OR;
• Masters degree in Engineering OR;
• JD/PhD Engineering

Preferred:
• Electronic enclosures design and manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of aero gas turbine control systems
• Experience using computer aided design tools such as Siemens NX
• Familiarity with design processes and component testing
