Whats the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time Civil or Structural Engineer in the San Diego, CA region. We are looking for a candidate with experience at marine facilities (such as Ports) and / or with design for US Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, particularly the US Navy (NAVFAC).
This position will manage and support civil and environmental engineering projects primarily in the coastal environment, working for our clients, which include the US Federal government and other jurisdictions. Typical projects include port facilities, water transportation facilities, dredging, shore protection, and environmental restoration.
We are interested in a candidate that has the capacity to grow, is a quick learner, is detail-orientated, is a committed team player, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Anchor QEA is a leader in coastal and marine engineering, and this position offers strong growth and learning potential in the fields of site remediation, restoration, dredging, civil and structural engineering, and coastal engineering.
Responsibilities :
- Serves as the engineer supporting development and design for projects including, but not limited to, concept designs, alternative studies, basis of design requirements, construction drawings, technical reports and specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Provides technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Manages team and coordinates with clients project manager and / or technical staff
- Develops client relationships, leads proposals, and contribute to the sales process.
- Analyzes complex problems and develops value-engineered solutions
- Ensures that work products are prepared in accordance with Anchor QEAs quality management program
- Ability to travel for field site visits and project meetings in various US locations
- Participate in construction support activities including review of contractor requests for information and submittals and oversight of construction activities
