Whats the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time environmental scientist with 8 to 15 years of experience for an opening in our Irvine, California office. The successful candidate will have a natural affinity for science with a demonstrated capacity to grow, be detail-orientated and a committed team player, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. This position will support environmental science and engineering projects involving short and long-term monitoring programs for water, sediment, and biological resource quality, contaminated sediment and dredged material evaluations, and stormwater monitoring and source control investigations.
Responsibilities :
The successful candidate will initially support multiple principal and senior managing staff in executing projects, communicating with clients, and contributing to business development opportunities, with a goal of independently leading projects and client communications. The successful candidate will be required to maintain and coordinate multiple projects with competing schedules and resource requirements. Success will be measured through the candidates contributions and commitment to quality and meeting internal project management and client-specified deadlines. The successful candidate will track and disseminate information associated with California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and various Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) policies and regulations.
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following :
- BS or MS in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, biology, ecology, toxicology)
- 8 to 15 years of relevant professional experience (e.g., academic research, environmental consulting, or chemical or bioassay laboratory testing
- Familiarity with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and associated compliance monitoring and reporting requirements
- Familiarity with federal and regional dredged material management guidance
- Familiarity with site characterization at contaminated sediment sites
- Familiarity with Californias Sediment Quality Provisions
- Expertise using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to develop Sampling and Analysis Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plans, or portions thereof.
- Ability and flexibility to work as part of multidisciplinary teams as well as to work independently
- Ability to review and confirm work products meet internal Anchor QEA standards, regulatory requirements, contract specifications, and client expectations
