Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary engineering analysis, including layout, materials, processes, finishes and equipment utilizing Blueprints and CAD.
- Identify manufacturing and engineering solutions to optimize existing equipment while maximizing opportunities to secure new business.
- Research and prepare technical cost estimates for Anchor products utilizing Excel.
- Work directly with customers &/or Sales on Request For Quotes (new business) projects.
- Coordinate with all other departments/functions to meet customer RFQ objectives as well as Anchor profitability and growth objectives.
- Obtain all necessary information from customers, suppliers and internal associates to develop accurate project cost estimates and proposals including timelines and other necessary activities.
- Understand and effectively communicate customers and suppliers’ requirements internally to gain input from all areas for completion of project proposals.
- Serve as an Estimating Engineering generalist, able to plan, execute and complete various product and process cost analysis projects.
- Prepare design proposals utilizing PowerPoint to continually improve product manufacturability and lower costs for Anchor and the customers’ benefit.
- Prepare customer cost breakdown forms and Anchor “forms” for submission in conjunction with Anchor new business proposals/quotations.
- All other related projects as deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- Must have experience with CAD software, proficient with 3D.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Blueprint Reading.
- Project management skills.
- Two years of manufacturing experience (preferred, not required).
- Exposure to ant metal stamping, tooling or welding processes is preferred.
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred, or at least 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
