Our core expertise includes small to large metal stampings and complex welded assemblies including Class A appearance trim, structural, exterior, interior, exhaust, N.V.H., ride control, seating, steering column, brake, chassis, and safety related components.
A tool and die maker apprentice receives skilled on-the-job training in tool and die making, including employer sponsored classroom instruction. Through your apprenticeship, you learn the basics of manufacturing these products. You train with an experienced tool and die maker until you are able to complete tasks on your own.
Responsibilities:
· Learn to maintain a high level of housekeeping and organization in the Tool Room
· Cutting various pieces of tooling, making jigs and fixtures as instructed by your Journeyman Die Maker
· Learn how to run all trade-related machines
· Learn how to read blueprints
· Other duties include computing and verifying the dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces
· Follow all the Anchor Principles, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures
· Any other duties as assigned by your Journeyman Die Maker.
Skills and Abilities:
· Work well with your hands and have a strong eye for detail
· Possess a good mechanical aptitude
· Must be willing to learn from others
· Must be able to strive in a hands-on environment.
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum 1 year experience working in the manufacturing industry
· Have a working knowledge of engineering, science, design, and technology is a plus.
