What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALTIY CONTROL TESTING TECHNICIAN (Seasonal) position at Anchorage Sand & Gravel?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Anchorage Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. in Alaska is looking for a Construction Materials Testing Technician: Sample and perform laboratory and field testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregate, block and cement to ensure compliance with ASTM/ ACI specifications and standards in a fast-paced quality control laboratory. This position requires the ability to represent Anchorage Sand & Gravel to customers and third-party agencies. Prepare reports as directed for internal distribution and/ or specific agencies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have good math, record keeping, problem solving and computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
- Willing to work 6 days a week, long hours and early start times while maintaining a positive attitude.
- High School Diploma.
- Valid Alaska Driver's License.
- Basic understanding of computers and excel spreadsheets.
- ACI, NICET, NCMA and WAQTC certification is preferred.
- Prior experience testing materials in the lab and field is valuable; however, training and certification opportunities will be provided.
- Professional and courteous attitude towards team members as well as customers and third-party agencies.
