POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Property Accountant is a pivotal role within the Ancora financial operations team, providing critical support to property management and asset management functions. This position is responsible for overseeing a wide range of accounting activities, including financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and construction accounting. Working closely with outsourced property managers, vendors, and internal teams, the Senior Property Accountant ensures accurate financial management and compliance across our real estate portfolio. The role also plays an integral part in system migrations, including the transition from QuickBooks to Yardi, and contributes to financial audits by compiling and organizing necessary documentation.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in real estate accounting, strong technical skills in platforms like Yardi and Microsoft Excel, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving. With a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills, this individual will drive efficiency, accuracy, and accountability in all aspects of property accounting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Managing day-to-day accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliation schedules as needed.
- Collaborating with outsourced property managers to review financials in partnership with the Ancora asset management team.
- Coordinating with point-of-sale providers and other vendors, as necessary.
- Preparing draw schedules and understanding of construction accounting.
- Compiling and organizing financial information for auditors as required.
- Supporting the conversion from QuickBooks to Yardi accounting software.

COMPENSATION
Compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and incentives. The company provides a 401k match, employer-paid health insurance, and unlimited PTO. Ancora benchmarks compensation decisions using the CEL National Real Estate Compensation & Benefits Survey.
