Key Responsibilities and Priorities : Provide effective leadership and motivation to the Quality Department.Provide strategic direction that supports both Aircraft and Fitting Business Units to include alignment with our manufacturing facility in Baja, MX.Assist with maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS)- supporting : Sales, Design, Purchasing & OperationsEnforce processes in place that ensure we continue to meet the current and future needs of the businessSustain SMART specific metrics that are aligned with the Quality objectives of the organizationImplement risk base processes to mitigate quality issues while reducing quality oversightSupport internal, customer and 3rd party audits, including the FAA and CASEDrive inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure alignment and compliance with customer / regulatory requirementsResponsible for accomplishing daily goals (using SQDIP methodologies) and objectives and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered toReviews all data obtained during quality activities to ensure consistency with company policies and proceduresSupport best practices and technologies used to improve quality and reduce waste / costsWorks cooperatively with others to meet goals, solve problems or suggest improvements. Has and applies proficient skills and knowledge for all functions within the department.Knowledge / Skills : Ability to problem solve quality related issues and provide decision making methods to tackle complex product / process quality issuesExperience of DFSS, DMAIC, RCCA, 8D, 5Why and APQP (PPAP) tools preferred.Lean Tools 5S, Mistake Proofing, Poka-Yoke.Experience working with quality systems, e.g., AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR Regulations.Proficiency with MS Office applications : Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to build relationships and influence positive change within the organizationAbility to read and understand Engineering Drawings and SpecificationsA solid track record within the field of Quality. Succinct behavior with a bias for actionCertified Lead Auditor AS9100D is a plus.Read and write in English. Fluent in Spanish, is a plus.Experience using Quality Collaboration by Design (QCBD) software is a plusEducation Requirements : Bachelors degree in engineering and or 10 years of hands-on experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
