What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Planner position at Ancra?
Key Responsibilities and Priorities:
- Safety is our number one priority. This role will promote safety culture through participation in weekly safety toolbox talks.
- Review and action planned purchase orders in D365 to ensure the availability of purchased items / materials and finished products to meet customer demand, forecast, and safety stock levels
- Review and action MRP messages to advance or postpone purchase orders and work with Planning Manager to escalate and manage exceptions
- Review, schedule, and release planned production orders in D365 for manufactured items to ensure availability for on time delivery to meet customer demand, forecast, and safety stock levels
- Review and action MRP messages to re-schedule production orders and work with Planning Manager to escalate and manage exceptions
- Answer lead time requests for custom product based on material availability and coordination with Purchasing and Operations
- Perform periodic review and identify parts which require MRP parameter updates due to changes in demand pattern or forecast
- Work projects to add new groups of items to the inventory optimization program
- Identify items that can be obsoleted and work to reduce excess inventory
- Review daily reports to identify critical supply issues – investigate, inform, and define needed action to resolve
- Communicate with Purchasing and Operations to resolve material supply, production, or shipping issues
- Review backlog of customer orders, proactively addressing potential issues before they can impact on time delivery, facilitate all communications between customer service and purchasing/operations regarding customer order delays and/or expedite requests
- Actively and continuously seek improvements that will increase department productivity, performance, and company profits
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chains
- Experience with MRP preferred. Proficient in Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, ability to analyze, prioritize, and effectively problem solve
- Strong initiative
Years of Experience Required: 1 – 3 years’ experience
Education Requirements: Associate degree, Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience
Certification Requirements: APCIS CPIM certification is a plus
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements: Office Environment
