What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Ancra?
Key Responsibilities and Priorities:
- Provide effective leadership and motivation to the Quality Department.
- Provide strategic direction that supports both Aircraft and Fitting Business Units to include alignment with our manufacturing facility in Baja, MX.
- Assist with maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS)- supporting: Sales, Design, Purchasing & Operations
- Enforce processes in place that ensure we continue to meet the current and future needs of the business
- Sustain SMART specific metrics that are aligned with the Quality objectives of the organization
- Implement risk base processes to mitigate quality issues while reducing quality oversight
- Support internal, customer and 3rd party audits, including the FAA and CASE
- Drive inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure alignment and compliance with customer/regulatory requirements
- Responsible for accomplishing daily goals (using SQDIP methodologies) and objectives and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to
- Reviews all data obtained during quality activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
- Support best practices and technologies used to improve quality and reduce waste / costs
- Works cooperatively with others to meet goals, solve problems or suggest improvements. Has and applies proficient skills and knowledge for all functions within the department.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to problem solve quality related issues and provide decision making methods to tackle complex product/process quality issues
- Experience of DFSS, DMAIC, RCCA, 8D, 5Why and APQP (PPAP) tools preferred.
- Lean Tools – 5S, Mistake Proofing, Poka-Yoke.
- Experience working with quality systems, e.g., AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR Regulations.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications: Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to build relationships and influence positive change within the organization
- Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings and Specifications
- A solid track record within the field of Quality. Succinct behavior with a bias for action
- Certified Lead Auditor AS9100D is a plus.
- Read and write in English. Fluent in Spanish, is a plus.
- Experience using Quality Collaboration by Design (QCBD) software is a plus
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and or 10 years of hands-on experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Aerospace Industry experience is a plus.
