Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician who has passed the VTNE to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to the veterinarian in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting in various clinical procedures, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment within the veterinary practice.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal patients pre- and post-surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Provide proper handling and restraint of animals during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
Requirements
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is required; 2 years of experience working in a small animal clinic as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical recordkeeping, AVImark in particular.
- Proficiency in canine and feline restraint.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization, venipuncture and assist with diagnostic imaging (X-ray).
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their welfare.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
