- Determines the nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources
- Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation
- Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse
- Administers medication within scope of practice
- Performs and assists with procedures within scope of practice
- Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly
Non-Essential Functions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must work effectively as a team-member.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Paramedic Technical Certification or associate degree – Required
Licenses/Certifications
- State of Alabama Paramedic licensure - Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved American Heart Association training center required to be current upon hire
- ACLS and PALS certification from approved American Heart Association training center required within 6 months of employment
Minimum Work Experience
- Experience in emergency services related field - Required
