Radiology Student PRN

Job Summary: 

• Responsible for assisting with a variety of imaging procedures while observing patient safety protocol
• Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs as they escort and transport patients to and from Radiology
• Work within the Ohio General X-ray Machine Operator (GXMO) license boundaries

• Assists with the review of patient information as it relates to radiographic exams
• Provides lifting assistance
• Escorts and transports patients to and from Radiology
• Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations
• Works under the direction of the Radiologic Technologist at all times
• Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure
• Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly
• Sends all information to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) efficiently and effectively
• Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures
• Assists in maintaining basic records, reports, and files
• Keeps current with local fire and safety regulations
• Possesses knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments
• Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations related to the Radiology Services Department and facility.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
• Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and clerical responsibilities, as needed

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled as a second-year x-ray student in an accredited Ohio Radiologic Technologist Program
• Ohio GXMO registry active and in good standing

Experience:

• 1 year of health care experience preferred
