The Engineering Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure the smooth operation of all technical and maintenance aspects of the hotel.
Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions
- Coordinate and manage engineering work orders, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
- Maintain and organize the engineering department’s records, files, and reports.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs for all hotel systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Track and monitor maintenance supplies and inventory, ensuring sufficient stock levels.
- Provide administrative support for engineering projects, including cost tracking, progress updates, and reporting.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient resolution of engineering-related issues affecting guest services.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets for engineering operations and repair works.
- Support the Director of Engineering in daily operations, ensuring effective use of resources and ensuring hotel compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in coordinating contractor work and vendors, ensuring the timely and accurate execution of tasks.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and help maintain a safe working environment for the engineering team and the entire hotel.
- Maintain a high level of p rofessionalism and service in all guest and staff interactions, ensuring a positive experience for all.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or relevant technical certification in engineering, maintenance, or hospitality management preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hotel or facilities management environment, preferably in an engineering or maintenance role.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of hotel maintenance systems and operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Basic understanding of engineering systems and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management software (e.g., CMMS systems).
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to work well with a diverse team and collaborate effectively with other hotel departments.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on resolving maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move or handle equipment as necessary.
