Plumbing Estimator/Project Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Plumbing Estimator/Project Manager to oversee estimating, bidding, and project coordination for plumbing projects. This role ensures an optimized Sales Pipeline, analyzes bid documents, calculates project durations, and assists with project hand-offs and startup procedures. Candidates with experience as a superintendent/foreman on plumbing projects in the field are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating & Bidding:
- Review bid invitations and manage estimating schedules.
- Analyze plans, specs, geotechnical reports, and project schedules for accurate cost estimation.
- Identify errors, omissions, and constructability issues in bid documents.
- Request and review supplier/vendor quotes for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit plumbing bid proposals on time.
Project Coordination:
- Maintain and monitor the Sales Pipeline, ensuring balanced workload and bid opportunities.
- Assist the Plumbing Department Head with project hand-offs and startup procedures.
- Attend site walks and conduct field investigations as needed.
- Communicate with clients to clarify bid intentions, project details, and assumptions.
Change Management & Cost Control:
- Track commodity price fluctuations to mitigate cost overruns.
- Assist in managing project scope changes and estimating cost impacts.
- Prepare takeoffs and estimates for change proposals.
Qualifications:
- Experience in plumbing estimating, project management, or construction administration.
- Strong knowledge of blueprints, bid documents, and cost estimation.
- Proficiency in BIM, Procore, or other construction software preferred.
