This land development-focused role requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and is ideal for a seller-doer with a strong network in civil infrastructure, particularly in land development projects, along with leadership experience and a proven track record of winning and executing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Development

• Lead the expansion of the firm’s Houston presence with a focus on land development by developing client relationships, securing new contracts, and driving revenue growth.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within public and private sector civil infrastructure projects.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to municipalities, developers, and public agencies, delivering innovative civil engineering solutions for land development projects.
• Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand recognition and thought leadership.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff with a strong emphasis on land development projects.
• Create a positive and growth-oriented culture, providing coaching, professional development, and career advancement opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to support project delivery and long-term market expansion.
• Oversee team performance, resource allocation, and operational efficiency to maximize productivity and client satisfaction.

Project Execution & Technical Excellence

• Lead and oversee large-scale land development civil engineering projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
• Set technical standards, processes, and best practices to maintain quality control and design integrity across all projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and industry standards to mitigate risk and ensure project success.
• Act as a technical expert and problem-solver, providing guidance on complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15 years of experience in civil engineering, project management, and business development, with a focus on land development projects.
• Demonstrated ability to win, manage, and execute large civil engineering projects.
• Proven experience in leadership, team building, and mentoring.
• Postgraduate business education and/or MBA preferred.
• Strong relationships with clients in Houston and a history of growing market presence.
