Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Highway Superintendent to oversee TxDOT roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects . This role requires strong leadership, field management, scheduling, safety enforcement, and subcontractor coordination to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with TxDOT standards .
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise all aspects of highway, roadway, and bridge construction , including earthwork, drainage, paving, and traffic control .
- Manage field crews and subcontractors , ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to TxDOT specifications.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, daily reports, and cost tracking to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
- Enforce TxDOT safety standards and OSHA regulations , conducting regular safety meetings and audits.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and TxDOT representatives to resolve field issues and ensure compliance.
- Read and interpret TxDOT blueprints, plans, and specifications , ensuring work is performed correctly.
