What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Body Shop Technician position at Anderson Automotive Group?
POSITION SUMMARY :
Repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications.
Work Schedule Mon-Fri 8am - 5 : 30
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
- Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
- Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :
Technical secondary education or equivalent is preferred. Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and handle a variety of projects and functions simultaneously with minimum supervision. 2 or more years of body shop experience working in automotive dealership preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Position requires frequent walking, bending and standing with moderate to heavy (20-75 lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling. The position is a very physical and requires frequent hearing and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and / or fingers. This position is located within an open bay environment and is substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
