Recreational Coordinator

The Recreational Coordinator will implement and carry out recreation therapy for persons with emotional and behavioral problems while coordinating with individual service plans, to enhance their kinesthetic, visual-motor, inter-personal and intra-personal skills, as well as naturalist learning processes, and their ability to utilize community resources and support.
Anderson Health Services is launching mental and behavioral health programs to provide 24/7 emotional support to clients with a history of complex trauma. The hours for this position are 8am-4pm. Everyone is dedicated to offering high quality, culturally sensitive care to adolescents in need of emotional help and support.
The Recreational Coordinator at Anderson Health Services is expected to:
- Organize and execute recreational activities for individuals and groups
- Plan, direct, and facilitate group activities such as sports, games, and arts and crafts
- Provide training, shadowing, directions, and material for staff to facilitate activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
- Communicate with participants, staff, and management to ensure the success of recreational activities
- Maintain equipment and supplies for recreational activities
- Assist with the development and implementation of new recreational programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or associate degree with a minimum of two years of population specific experience working with children ages 6-17 is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Must be 21 years and older and have a valid NC driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to demonstrate effective self-regulation strategies. Must be coachable and willing to learn. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening and background check.
