All progress and significant events are documented and discussed with the Treatment Team, to ensure everyone is on the same page about doing what is in the best interests of our clients.
Anderson Health Services is launching mental and behavioral health programs to provide 24/7 emotional support to clients with a history of complex trauma. Everyone is dedicated to offering high quality, culturally sensitive care to adolescents in need of emotional help and support.
The Shift Supervisor at Anderson Health Services is expected to:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of Youth Workers in a day treatment, group home, or residential facility.
- Assign work and evaluate the work performance of subordinate employees.
- Ensure that staff adhere to work schedules in providing facility coverage in compliance with approved agency policy and procedure.
- Coordinate residents' daily shift activities.
- Monitor and orient new staff to programs operated by the facility.
- Prepare/review incident reports and records youth's daily intervention and rehabilitative treatment services.
- Monitor youth participation in daily activities including social development and instructional activities.
- Conduct discussion with youths about adjustment and provide insight into responsible behavior and attitudes.
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or an associate degree with a minimum of five years of population specific experience working with the youth is required.
Physical Requirements
This position will require a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending climbing stairs, and lifting individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. In addition, there may be occasional contact with hostile clients, and incumbents may be subjected to physical and verbal abuse while executing physical or protective interventions. The employee must maintain sufficient physical ability to ensure safety, in the event a client becomes violent, and attempts to hurt themselves or others. The employee must be agile enough to control and rapidly extricate themselves and clients from buildings in case of emergency.
Additional Requirements
Must be 21 years and older and have a valid NC driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to demonstrate effective self-regulation strategies. Must be coachable and willing to learn. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening and background check.
