We are seeking a school bus driver to add to our steadily growing team!
This is a flexible position that can be AM or PM, AM and PM, extra-curricular field and sports trips, emergency / on-call, and / or summer school. The morning route is approximately 6:45 AM – 8:15 AM and the afternoon route is approximately 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Extra-curricular trips vary from local to interstate, a few hours to a full day, early morning to late evening, and can be for school field trips or sporting events. This position is open immediately, but we offer flexibility for training, certification, and or previous commitments. The 2024/25 school year runs from early September through early June, and summer school runs for four weeks shortly thereafter.

*Competitive wages: starting pay is $40 - $55.00 per route depending on route, mileage, time, experience, and training, and the starting wage is $20 - 27.50 per hour base to base for extra-curricular and sports trip.

Daily Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety an functionality
*promptly reporting any safety issues or concerns to the appropriate parties
*safely and professionally operate a school bus, ensuring the timely transportation of students to and from school each day, as well as other related school activities.
*effectively communicate with students, parents, school staff, and co-workers to address any concerns or issues
*adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations while driving and operating the school bus
*perform a student check at the end of each shift
*fuel bus as needed, including DEF as applicable
*sweep bus and other duties as required to maintain a clean and safe bus
Interested candidates MUST:
*have a clean driving record and be approved by our insurance company;
*have the ability to pass an initial and yearly background check per the school district and our companies policies;
*pass an initial and periodic drug and alcohol tests as required;
*have or be willing to obtain CPR certification;
*have experience with professional driving, commercial driving, or similar transportation roles;
*posses or be able to acquire a MedCard;
*have the ability to handles emergency situations calmly and effectively;
*maintain professionalism when interacting with students, parents, school staff, and co-workers alike;
*have mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance, safe driving and fueling, and daily inspections;
*adhere to local, county, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as school and company policies and procedures;
*be reliable, dependable, and punctual; and
*be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and co-workers.
Preference given to an individual who currently possess their class "A" or "B" CDL with their "S" and "P" endorsements, but we are willing to train the right individual.
