Description
The day shift Direct Support Professional is responsible for supervising ill and/or injured students in the residence during school hours and providing the appropriate level of care identified by the Health Services Department. If necessary, this position assists with supervising an ill or injured child during a medical evaluation, communicates with community or agency service providers about the child’s illness or injury and ensures that all information is shared with the Health Services Department and other pertinent staff (residential, education) as necessary. In the event there are no ill or injured students, this position reports to their assigned residence to assist with the morning routine within the residence. Upon arrival at The Education Center this position will report to the Front Desk/Ed Admin for classroom assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The day shift Direct Support Professional is responsible for supervising ill and/or injured students in the residence during school hours and providing the appropriate level of care identified by the Health Services Department
- Accompanies an ill or injured child to the Health Services Department or community service provider as necessary.
- In the absence of ill or injured children requiring special supervision and care in the residence, the day shift Direct Support Professional reports to their assigned residence to assist with the morning routine within the residence. Upon arrival at The Education Center this position will report to the Front Desk/Ed Admin for classroom assignment.
- In the absence of ill or injured children requiring special supervision and care in the residence during Residential Non-School Days, the day shift Direct Support Professional reports to their assigned residence to assist within the residence.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain agency driving privileges.
- Must complete two week orientation and maintain training or qualifications as they relate to Anderson Center for Autism.
