Description
As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, the Occupational Therapist provides support through direct, on-site provision of individual and group occupational therapy services, as well as consultation and training. Direct services are provided for both children and/or adults as indicated in either the IEP or ISP. In addition, the Occupational Therapist provides oversight and supervision for COTAs as needed as well as OT students within the program.

To actively further the agency's mission to optimize quality of life (QofL) for individuals served by monitoring and implementing systems that promote the QofL of the individuals in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Provides individual assessments with regard to the occupational therapy needs of children/adults.
- Maintains a student/adult caseload providing individual and group occupational therapy services.
- Maintains efficient and accurate individual and departmental records.
- Communicates effectively with students, families, co-workers, supervisor and treatment plan.
- Provide consultative services to program staff regarding student and setting behavioral support and intervention planning.
- Utilize internal and external resources to maintain and develop professional skills.
- Adheres to departmental/institutional policies, procedures and practices.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.A. Degree from an accredited college in OT, NYS License as a Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire and other emergency.
