What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at Anderson County Government?
Nature of Work
The IT Support team maintains the computer networks of all types of county offices, providing technical support and ensuring the county as a whole run smoothly. An IT Technician maintains the company computer systems, installs and configures hardware and software, and solves technical problems.
Illustrative Examples of Work - Other duties may be assigned
- PEN Testing under CISO
- Installing and configuring, hardware, software, printers and scanners
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Providing technical support across the county (this may be in person or over the phone)
- Log and track incoming and outgoing inventory
- Computer workspace maintenance / Clean-up
- Basic Telephone maintenance
- Digital meeting organizer and host: 200M, GoTo-Meeting, Teams, etc.
- Software prep and maintenance
- General understanding of database functions
Necessary Requirements of Work
Graduation from an accredited four-year high school. Sufficient strength and agility to perform the physically demanding aspects of the job.
- Flexible schedule required - some second shift work, including after-hours meeting organization and maintenance
- Problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
- Knowledge of personal computer operating systems including common hardware problems and their effect on software applications.
- Ability to perform the physically demanding aspects of the job including heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds), bending, stooping and working in confined spaces.
- Remain current with advances in computer technology
- Ability to work independently or as a team player
Necessary Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver's License (Class D) and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates.
