Part Time Van Driver

POSITION: PART TIME VAN DRIVER

DEPARTMENT: VETERAN’s AFFAIRS

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to operate patient transport vehicles capable of carrying up to 8 or more passengers to and from VA Medical Center facilities, private healthcare facilities, and other private sector areas like patient homes, railway, bus stations. Incumbent drives predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs.

Transport Veteran’s to and from medical appointments
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound van at all times
Obey all traffic laws
Perform inspections of the van before and after each route
Ensure the safety of all Veteran’s
Assist Veteran’s with getting on and off the van when required
Attend monthly safety meetings
Performs other related duties as required
Valid South Carolina Driver’s License

REQUIREMENTS:

1 years’ experience driving a shuttle bus.

No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years.
Clean driving record (no traffic citations in last 5 years)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalency 1 to 3 years’ experience
