Job Description Summary:
The Rental Agent will be responsible for assisting customers and in sourcing rental equipment based on projects and applications. This will involve negotiating rates, transportation, and rental purchase options.
Customer Insurance coverage
- Verify that customers maintain appropriate insurance levels and procure/update insurance certification.
Maintenance of rental equipment utilization and documentation for machines on rent
- Compute rental fee based on weekly or monthly rate to prepare rental agreement, specifying charges and payment procedures;
- Maintain contacts with external freight handlers to arrange transportation when the client is unable to transport the rented equipment;
- Continuously update computer information file of equipment availability;
- Utilize computer system to perform insurance checks on previous customers, assure availability of equipment, cut rental orders and take equipment off rental list when equipment is returned.
Coordination with Salesforce
- Communicate and coordinate information with Salesforce about equipment availability, status of on rent machines, closeout reminders, etc;
- Notify Salesforce of new rentals by their customers.
Track and Enter Equipment into System
- Receive in all new equipment when taken off rent accurately and in timely manner;
- Close out rentals and notify Accounting for invoicing, and Service Dept for inspections.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent experience required;
- Minimum of 1 year experience with heavy equipment; or combination of experience and education;
- Proficiency with computers including looking up equipment, calculating rental rates and discounts;
- Ability to diplomatically handle customer issues and solve problems in a timely fashion. This position requires a professional demeanor and ability to enhance the company's image with current and prospective customers.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation consists of salary, commission, and bonuses based on achieving annual targets: $70,000-$85,000.
