Job Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, directing, organization, staffing and control of the Housekeeping Department Satellite Buildings of Anderson Hospital and assist the Manager as necessary in the operations of the main hospital.

Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains current knowledge and practice of Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Acts as an ambassador of customer relations to the clients of the satellite buildings to meet their cleaning needs within the budget.
- Maintains strict confidence of information including patient, employee, department and hospital information.
- Demonstrates behaviors as identified in the Customer Service Philosophy.
- Assures that adequate resources are present to complete departmental responsibilities.
- Maintains knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and techniques
- Insures that premises are maintained clean and free of significant defects.
- Insures that collection, segregation and disposal of wastes and soiled linen is done in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitors the completion and quality of work/tasks performed by Housekeeping Staff.
- Assists the Manager/Director in the development of Departmental Objectives as well as Quality Improvement and LEAN initiatives.
- Participates in the selection process as well as orientation for Staff additions and/or replacements.
- Participates in the staff disciplinary process as necessary.
- Assists the Manager with departmental recordkeeping and the development of same.
- Assists the Manager/Director in the development of annual budgets and the ongoing evaluation and monitoring of same.
- Manages departmental operations in the absence of the Manager.
Qualifications
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Required:
2 years supervisor experience in a healthcare related field.
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Associate Degree in related field
Previous Manager lever experience in a healthcare related field.
CHEST certified
Knowledgeable in the regulatory requirements pertaining to hospital housekeeping
Familiar with aseptic cleaning techniques, equipment and supplies necessary for implementing the techniques.
Working Conditions: Exposure Category I:
Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body, fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes or then, are category I tasks use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in category I tasks.
