Job Summary : Performs basic duties of patient care to adult and geriatric populations, under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Performs various housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, clean environment. • Admits / Discharges / Transfers patient and completes appropriate forms
• Provides for patient hygiene
• Provides for patients food and fluid needs
• Assists with patient mobility
• Vital signs
• Maintains safe environment of care
• Provides for appropriate pressure ulcer prevention
• Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to hospital policies and procedures
• Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to primarily adult, and geriatrics populations as indicated
• Supports patient's rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural, ethical, and religious diversity.
• Adheres to standard precautions and infection control standards.QualificationsEducation Requirements and Other Requirements : Education Level : High school diploma or equivalentCertification / Licensure : Successful completion of approved Nurse Assistant course with certificationby the State of IllinoisBLS certification requiredExperience Requirements : Long term care, rehabilitation, and / or medical surgical careexperience preferredWorking Conditions : Exposure Category I : Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them, care Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
