Job Summary
Responsible for scheduling procedures for endoscopy lab. Serves as communication link between other departments, the endoscopy lab, and the physicians' offices. Functions as secretary for the department. Coordinates preoperative and outpatient visits to the Endoscopy Lab and ancillary departments. Gathers and prepares information for smooth patient flow in the hospital. Complies patient charts and may do appointment/procedure reminder phones calls to patients.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Secretarial training in high school or business school preferred. Computer knowledge and proficiency preferred for Microsoft Word, Excel, and Meditech Scheduling. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Certification/Licensure: CPR certification preferred

Job Responsibilities
- Supports patient's rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural, ethical and religious diversity.
- Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Exhibits responsibility for departmental and personal work schedules with regards to flexibility to meet the staffing needs of the department.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Acts in accordance with hospital policies, meets the requirements of the Code of Conduct, and identifies any conflicts of interest.
- Follows policy and procedure for environmental cleaning and housekeeping.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Materials Management, assists in ordering of supplies within the department, Meditech Module, Intranet, Endoprose, and Medivator computer system.
- Schedules patients in the Meditech SUR scheduling platforms. Creates charts based off the procedure schedule including consents.
- Calls patients as needed at the direction of the nurse manager/charge nurse fill open spots in the schedule to ensure the schedule maintains a constant flow.
- Does procedure reminder calls to patients at the nurse manager's direction.
- Assist with review patient charges and coordinates with the Surgical Buyer..
- Other duties as assigned.
