To apply prescribed ultrasonography for diagnosis in accordance with policy and procedure,
Practicing independent good judgment and initiative in the utilization of the ultrasound equipment.
To apply patient care, communicating the procedure performed, lessening apprehension and in
Accordance with the hospital’s Patient Rights Policies. Has knowledge of the needs of patients
According to their age group and the ability to modify care according to patient’s age.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Performs and documents patient and family education activities including assessing, performing and documenting
2. Provides age specific care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.
3. Support Patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural and religious diversity
4. Ensure appropriate consent forms are signed by the patient or responsible party for invasive procedures
5. Review the medical record for patient history acquiring pertinent clinical information
6. Proficiently operate all functions of US equipment
7. Select the proper transducer(s) for examination(s) being performed
8. Adjust Doppler/color Doppler controls to optimize display of data
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent
Certification / Licensure: A.R.R.T. registered preferred
R.D.M.S. certified or registry eligible
Current BLS: Required

Working Conditions:
Extensive walking, standing, pushing and/or lifting medium to heavy weight.
Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues: Al procedures or other
Job related tasks that involve inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures should be required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
