The Director of Global Operations and Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing global plant operations, warehouse management, strategic sourcing, and the execution of global supply chain activities. This role plays a critical part in aligning the supply chain strategy with the organization’s long-term vision, ensuring operational efficiency and driving innovation across multiple regions, including the USA, EMEA, and APAC. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics, implement lean methodologies, and ensure compliance with global standards.
Operations & Supply Chain Management:
- Manage plant operations, warehousing, and distribution centers globally, ensuring high performance across all regions.
- Lead strategic sourcing efforts to optimize supplier relationships and drive cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Implement and oversee global supply chain strategies to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure effective management of logistics, including transportation routing, inbound and outbound freight, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Utilize ERP and other systems to streamline processes and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean methodologies, focusing on cost reductions and process optimization.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global team; foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Ensure that the team meets performance targets by establishing clear goals and metrics.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Lead the strategic planning process for global supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that supply chain operations are aligned with customer requirements and overall business strategy.
Global Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
- Manage risk across the supply chain by implementing robust contingency plans and monitoring global market trends.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in operations and supply chain management, with significant experience in the USA, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles, ERP, WMS, transportation routing software, and Lean methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing global teams and driving results.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance long-term strategy with immediate operational needs.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
