Summary: The Buyer/Production Planner, reporting to the Materials Manager, serves as the primary facilitator for managing purchase order requirements, tracking on-time delivery, and performing a range of procurement-related tasks as needed. monitoring procurement data to ensure on-time delivery and performing various procurement functions as needed. Supporting all Anderson locations and employees, this role plays a key part in driving efficiency and alignment across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates strong initiative in setting and achieving goals, ensuring tasks are completed independently while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives. Effectively manages priorities and deadlines to deliver results.
- Maintains clear, consistent, and fluid communication across teams, departments, and external partners to ensure seamless flow and collaboration.
- Proactively enhances role efficiency and productivity by identifying process gaps and implementing streamlined solutions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of purchase order confirmations and shipments by maintaining consistent and clear communication with suppliers.
- Identify and escalate issues such as missed delivery dates or order discrepancies to both internal and external stakeholders to drive quick resolution.
- Monitor material and parts shortages, collaborating with suppliers to provide effective, value-added solutions.
- Create and manage purchase orders, aligning supplier delivery dates with production schedules to meet business needs.
- Oversee the return process for defective materials and parts, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.
- Build rapport and maintain strong, dependable relationships with suppliers through clear, open, and proactive communication.
- Execute all procurement activities in compliance with departmental procedures, ensuring accurate and thorough data entry.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Experience
Required:
- At least (2) years of Purchasing/Buying or related field.
- Advanced utilization of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels of an organization; ability to contribute as a member of a team.
- Proven ability to successfully troubleshoot and contribute value-added solution(s).
- Ability to self-manage detailed projects and execute high-level deliverables.
- Exceptionally good written, verbal, and presentational skills.
- Mastery of time allocation and prioritizing commitments.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Manufacturing/Distribution environment.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
