What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tech Pharmacy Retail position at Anderson Regional Health System?
JOB SUMMARY
Assists the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow hood; enters charges for narcotics, floor stock, and surgery; and performs other related duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas :
Education / Regulatory Requirements :
High School Diploma / GED
Previous hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician or graduate of a certified Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
Active or eligible for Pharm Tech Registration with the State of MS Board of Pharmacy.
Skills :
Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.
Automated pharmacy systems.
IV Laminar Flow Hood - or willingness to learn.
