What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Anderson's Discount Pharmacy?
We are looking for a dependable and reliable Pharmacy Technician that is willing to go the extra mile.
Salary up to $25.00 per hour with performance based quarterly bonuses.
Pharmacy is open 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, including Holidays.
Must be available to work any shift hours from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Schedule varies example: Monday 9am-6pm, Tuesday 1pm to 10pm, Thursday 11 am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 10pm.
Must be able to work weekends and be on call, when necessary, overtime approved.
As a pharmacy technician you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must be able to take constructive criticism. Must be able to work in high stress environment. Must have excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.
- Responsibilities
- Greet customers and answer questions
- Receive prescriptions and check their validity
- Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate
- Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims)
- Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping) as assigned
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards
Skills
- Must have a valid Arkansas Pharmacy Tech license and 3 years variable experience as pharmacy technician
- Must have good knowledge of drugs (Brand and Generic)
- Computer RX software experience a plus
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail
