Summary
The Applications Developer Intern is responsible for the development, and implementation of application software under the direction of more senior developers. This role assists in providing technical consulting to teammates as well as actual programming services to bring those desired solutions to production. This position’s work is closely paired with other developers and works on projects / matters of introductory complexity and or in a support role.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and enrolled in a four-year degree in software development area. Those in a Masters program would also be qualified for this role.
- Education and work experience with Java is a plus (specific experience using Swing GUI a plus).
- Introductory understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Ability to generate standardized documentation
- Introductory level analytical, conceptual, and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to translate an idea or need into a potential / proposed solution or work product.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of people and cultures.
- Experience with IntelliJ (or similar IDEs) a plus.
- Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening, and verbal).
- Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
