Anderson University located in Anderson, Indiana is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time temporary accompanist.
Regular lesson accompanying Recital hearings, final hearings, GSRs and UDPEs servuces. Accompany students performing in the Concert-Aria auditions, plus rehearsal time with students . The Accompanist will be available to accompany Anderson University students at the various NATS competitions that occur during the academic year. As soon as faculty knows the dates for the competition, the Accompanist should be informed. Anderson University will cover any and all transportation and/or transportation costs to and from the competition, and any and all overnight lodging and meal expenses. The University may choose to have students pay an accompanist fee, but the Accompanist will not be responsible to collect those monies directly. If fewer than four (4) of the students for whom the Accompanist is a regular accompanist decide to register, the Accompanist will have the option to participate or not to participate. The maximum load for a NATS accompanist is 7 students. The Accompanist will be available to accompany prospective students on scheduled audition dates. These dates must be made available at least one month in advance.
Qualifications
High level of proficiency/musicality on piano. Prior experience as an accompanist. Familiarity and experience with diverse types of music is preferred. Interpersonal skills to work with persons of all ages and diversities in a positive manner.
Candidates should have belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ and the Christian faith as interpreted through the historic witness of the Bible and the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit. They should possess a vitality of Christian experience that is maturing in insight and application. Candidates must meet University lifestyle expectations.
