Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and various treatments while providing exceptional care to pets and their owners.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians in performing examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Provide pet grooming services as needed to maintain hygiene and health.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Handle animals safely and effectively to minimize stress for both pets and staff.
- Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and responding to emergencies.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A background in animal physiology with knowledge of veterinary practices.
- Experience in pet grooming is a plus.
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, particularly with dogs.
- Experience in laboratory settings is preferred but not required.
