What You’ll Do
The Director of Public Relations drives ANDMORE’s PR efforts to promote its Markets—Las Vegas Market, Atlanta Market, High Point Market, apparel markets, and other key events. This role focuses on increasing attendance and attracting new exhibitors by securing trade and select consumer media coverage that highlights new products, exhibitor success stories, and Market programming.
Reporting to the Vice President of Content and Community, this role requires a collaborative leader with expertise in trade-focused media relations, team management, and strategic storytelling to promote ANDMORE’s Markets and exhibitors effectively.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a targeted PR strategy to increase attendance and visibility for ANDMORE’s Markets through impactful media placements.
- Establish and execute PR strategies that align with Market objectives, emphasizing exhibitor stories, new product highlights, and Market programming.
- Stay informed on PR trends to refine strategies for promoting exhibitors, product launches, and Market events in trade and consumer media.
Media Relations
- Cultivate relationships with trade and select consumer media to secure impactful coverage that drives attendance to ANDMORE’s Markets.
- Act as a spokesperson as needed, ensuring consistent and effective communication of ANDMORE’s messaging.
- Pitch media opportunities that highlight new product launches, exhibitor success stories, and programming to maximize visibility for ANDMORE’s Markets.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the Community and PR Managers for Gift & Home and Apparel, along with the Communications Coordinator, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Ensure direct reports have clear goals and actionable plans that align with department objectives.
Content Development
- Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, and exhibitor-focused stories that promote Market highlights and drive attendance.
- Collaborate with Content and Community teams to integrate PR messaging across channels for cohesive storytelling.
Event Management
- Manage PR initiatives for Markets, including press tours, on-site press rooms, and facilitating media meetings to highlight exhibitors, new products, and Market programming.
- Support programming and activations by promoting seminars, tours, and panels through strategic media outreach, while identifying opportunities to feature speakers and exhibitors through editorial partnerships and placements.
Measurement & Reporting
- Track and analyze PR campaign performance, focusing on media coverage that drives attendance and visibility for ANDMORE’s Markets.
- Use data-driven insights to refine PR strategies and improve campaign results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of PR experience, with a strong focus on trade publications and media outreach in industries such as home décor, gift, furniture, or apparel.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Established relationships with media, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and storytelling skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with trade shows or large-scale events is a plus.
- Experience with PR tools and social media platforms.
