Job Summary:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join our growing accounting team. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on training across various accounting functions, initially focusing on Collections. The selected candidate will need to understand and be cross-trained across each of our accounting roles, including A/R and A/P with a focus on deepening their knowledge and preparing for an Accounting Team Lead role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collections Management: Take ownership of collections processes, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding invoices, and proactively managing customer accounts to mitigate overdue balances.
• Cross-Training in A/R & A/P: Learn and support the full scope of A/R and A/P processes, including invoicing, payment processing, vendor communications, and account reconciliation.
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting department, contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.
• Leadership Development: Take on increasing responsibility for leading other team members and contributing to departmental initiatives.
• Progression to Management: As part of your development plan, work closely with the VP Business Operations and Finance to gain exposure to relevant tasks, preparing for a transition into a supervisory role.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, including collections, A/R, and A/P preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive, growth-minded attitude, with a commitment to learning and development.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• 1 – 2 years of experience leading a team is preferred.
• Familiarity with Prophet 21 is a plus.
