What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Strand/Health Sciences Teacher - (2025-2026) position at Andover Public Schools?
- Develops new and continuing CAPS business partner and mentor relationships for students.
- Facilitates the creation of marketing materials for the CAPS program with CAPS students.
- Facilitates student partnerships with the Communications Department to prepare articles about CAPS in various Andover School District publications for the purpose of strong media relations and keeping the Andover staff and community informed.
- Partners with Andover CAPS director and director of business development, to recruit, develop, retain and monitor business and industry partners that result in the following investments: curriculum input, guest speakers, guest instructors, mentorships and internships. Identifies, qualifies and evaluates mentor, speaker, and internship opportunities.
- Facilitate the learning of HIPPA, BloodBorne Pathogens, Workplace Safety, CPR, First Aid Certification, Clinical Research and Ethics, Vital Signs, Skills Practice, Medical/Patient History, Bedside Manner, Case Studies and Medical Journals
- Preferred background in medicine but not required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Current Kansas State Teaching License on file in the District Office.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
