About You
The Retail Marketing Specialist manages, plans, develops, and maintains the in-store marketing messages and materials for STIHL’s extensive retail network. Aligning with STIHL’s Product Marketing and Product Management staff, the Retail Marketing Specialist ensures the consistency, accuracy, and efficacy of STIHL’s retail messages across the retail landscape. This role requires a passion for retail and ensures that our customers are treated with respect and incredible hospitality along their purchasing journey to help them easily and confidently find the perfect STIHL product for their needs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with cross-functional relevant Product Marketing and Product Management staff to ensure powerhead and accessory products are displayed appropriately for the retail channel and supported with incredible storytelling that communicates the key features and benefits of the product.
- Develops flexible store display guides to be implemented by Territory Management and regional merchandising staff across the various retail focuses that STIHL operates within.
- Leads the development and execution of all in-store marketing content for consumer and accessory market product launches.
- Leads the creation and delivery of pallet displays and other incentive-based in-store merchandising options.
- Collaborate with external branches and distributors to ensure market relevance and brand consistency across North America
- Coordinates with external design agencies and STIHL’s in-house Events Team to lead the design of STIHL’s regional and national tradeshow displays.
- Collaborates with STIHL’s retail development team in Germany to communicate market specificities and needs while also reporting North American progress and best practices.
- Maintains and updates the STIHL Retail Laboratory located at North American headquarters in Virginia Beach.
- Ensure the Ace Hardware STIHL concept store is maintained, updated, and always engaging.
- Engage and collaborate with the merchandising leadership of STIHL’s largest retailers to ensure that the brand’s in-store messaging leads in all categories.

Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, retail design, graphic design, merchandising, business administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience managing planogram software and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in telling the story of the various products within niche and nuanced audiences.
- Develop and implement product content and communication strategies that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Passion for constantly pursuing new tactics and tools and educate fellow team members of the latest trends and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present the product marketing strategy.
- Understanding of industry trends, consumer demographics. Understanding of STIHL’s product line and the Outdoor Power Equipment market a plus but not required.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams, external agencies, and various customers.
