Compensation = $160,000 - $190,000
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead, develop, and support the company’s accounting organization as it enters a period of transformational change. This position owns all technical accounting, financial reporting, and accounting operations functions. This position will independently pursue initiatives to improve accounting processes, policies, and systems to ensure compliance with GAAP, mitigate financial and compliance risks, and enhance visibility into operational performance. This position will also serve as a critical business partner for all accounting matters to numerous cross-functional stakeholders, both internal and external to the broader organization
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets, mitigate risks to the company’s financial position, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Lead, develop, and implement standard accounting policies and procedures for the entirety of the organization to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting organization, to include payroll, billing, collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, project accounting, treasury management, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, to include variance analyses and management report preparation.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to accounting staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, diversity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support decision-making on strategic initiatives, significant business transactions, and special projects through the provision of technical accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal control guidance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, accounting developments, and regulatory changes that may impact financial operations and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- 5 years in a supervisory or management position.
- In-depth US GAAP technical accounting and financial reporting experience, with particular emphasis on revenue recognition.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading the practical application of internal control frameworks.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle or other similar experience) required.
- Experience with finance transformation and accounting automation solutions preferred.
- Experience in construction or technology industries with exposure to project accounting preferred.
- National / Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team at a high level, but also able and willing to “roll up sleeves” when needed.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
