Andrews & Cole is currently partnering with a well-funded nonprofit in Chatsworth that is looking for an Accounting Supervisor, Grants Management, to join the team on a 12-24 month contract-to-hire basis. The role will report to the Grants Manager and be full-time onsite.
Job Overview: Under the Manager of Grants Management, the Accounting Supervisor, Grants Management oversees a team of Grant Accountants to ensure efficient and compliant grant and contract administration. They act as the main point of contact for program directors, management, and funders while managing hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions for team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead and direct Grant Accountants in creating financial reports, projections, and budgets. Train, coach, and mentor staff while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and funding requirements.
- Fiscal Management: Handle financial aspects of assigned program areas (e.g., Head Start, Family Well-Being). Monitor budgets, costs, and grant allocations, and review financial statements and funder reports.
- Communication: Serve as the liaison between program directors, funders, and finance staff, providing financial summaries and managing funder inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with management to design efficient financial workflows and implement AI tools to enhance processes.
- Cost Allocation: Maintain and implement cost allocation methodologies in compliance with regulations.
- Special Projects: Complete ad hoc projects and provide analysis as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Business (CPA or MBA a plus).
- Experience: 8 years in accounting, with 2 years supervising; nonprofit experience preferred. Knowledge of GAAP, OMB Circulars, and government funding required.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software.
