About the Role
The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality forward by effective communication both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain configuration control documentation through contract review and blueprint/specification control.
- Engage with OEMs and sub-tiers as a customer-facing QE.
- Assist as a backup QE for additional customers.
- Collaborate with Engineering to submit waivers and concessions as required/requested.
- Work with Engineering to review and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Participate in investigation and disposition of customer complaints and returns.
- Communicate and submit Corrective Actions as needed to customers and internally.
- Serve as an internal quality representative for internal and external customers.
- Achieve certification for customer source inspection as necessary, including completing training and certification.
- Contribute to various continual improvement projects.
- Pursue Internal Auditor certification and participate in audits, special process audits, and customer audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or comparable quality discipline.
- Effective communication skills through direct interactions and indirect means such as email.
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in a high-paced team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and detailed customer specifications/requirements.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and participate in pre-employment drug screening.
- US citizenship due to company contracts under the Arms Export Control and Export Administration Act.
