About the Role
The Quality Engineer drives quality forward through effective communication.
- Maintains configuration control documentation and performs contract reviews.
- Serves as a customer-facing QE for OEMs and sub-tier customers.
- Provides backup QE support for additional customers.
- Works with Engineering to submit waivers and concessions.
- Reviews and submits First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Investigates and disposes of customer complaints and returns.
- Communicates and submits corrective actions to customers and internally.
- Acts as internal quality representative for internal and external customers.
- Achieves certification for customer source inspections and completes training.
- Contributes to continual improvement projects and participates in audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or comparable quality discipline.
- Effective communication skills via direct interactions and indirect methods.
- Organized and able to multitask, utilizing resources to accomplish tasks.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in a fast-paced team environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to complete tasks.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and customer specifications.
- US citizenship required due to company contracts under Arms Export Control and Export Administration Act.
Preferred Skills
Experience in castings industry and familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 are preferred but not required.
