BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 8 years of relevant purchasing experience.
- Up to 20% of travel may be required between locations.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Background checks are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background in supply chain management.
- Familiar with custom fabricated parts: machining, sheet metal, weldments, etc.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability to reconcile accounts for accounting and documentation purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create solid vendor relationships and manage suppliers to ensure quality service, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Solicit quotations for components from suppliers.
- Order custom fabricated parts (machine parts, sheet metal parts, weldments, etc.) from a Bill of Materials and part/assembly documentation (3D and 2D).
- Track and maintain delivery status of ordered parts to meet build schedules.
- Conduit between engineering and suppliers to assure pro-active communication that prevents schedule delays and quality issues.
- Assist with project estimation by providing part price and lead time information.
- Shipping of components and systems which includes hiring crating and rigging crews, arrange truck transportation, and international shipments.
