A Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor assists the Distribution Center (DC) Manager in providing direction and control of all distribution center activities involving the accurate receipt, storage, security, loading and unloading of product. They work to maximize efficiency of all distribution operations. The DC Supervisor is also responsible for leading by example and fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork to maximize the efficiency of all team members and distribution center operations. This role is part of the Operations/Distribution Center team.
WORK TASKS
A Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:
Assists the DC Manager in assigning work and supervising DC team members; fills the role of the DC Manager in their absence.
Verifies by the receipt and storage of incoming product; ensures accuracy of all required forms and reports for receiving and shipping.
- Manages and monitors the distribution center space utilization; slots and sequences new items.
- Ensures all pick lines are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
Processes orders and oversees assigned work and monitors performance of the Order Selectors and/or Split Crew.
- Assists with and monitors dock sale orders, hot shots, and transfer orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
Manages the truck check-in process at the end of each delivery day.
- Checks in all Drivers at the of the delivery day.
- Unloads all returned product and empty packages.
- Sorts all good product and restocks to the pick line.
- Sorts all empty packages and prepares them for return to the brewery.
- Completes required paperwork and schedules brewery returns.
- Loads truck for brewery returns.
Ensures the proper rotation, handling and quality controls of all product in the DC, keg vault and trucks to minimize damages and preserve quality.
Maintains related equipment and ensures distribution center is clean and organized at all times.
- Schedules maintenance and repairs for DC vehicles, machinery and equipment.
Trains, evaluates and develops DC team members.
- Ensures team member safe use of all warehouse equipment.
- Promotes a safety oriented culture and corrects unsafe situations in a timely fashion.
* Percent of effort is dependent work schedule/shift and DC workload.

QUALIFICATIONS
A qualified candidate for the DC Inventory Supervisor role should satisfy the expectations below:
REQUIRED
- High School Graduate or Equivalent Certification
- One to Two Years Inventory Management Experience
- Previous Distribution or Market Experience
- General Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
- Forklift and Equipment Experience and Certification
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Related Field
- One to Three Years Supervisory Experience
- Class A CDL License
- Ability to Influence Others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to pull/push a load up to 70 lbs.
- Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products.
- Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
- Requires ability to tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Driving may be required during the workday.
- Ability to operate facility equipment required for role.
- Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.
- Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate varied machinery, equipment and vehicles.
- Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate computers and various facility machinery and equipment.
- Ability to perform job functions in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies and best practices.
