What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientific Glass Blower position at Andrews Glass?
Andrews Glass is hiring a Scientific glassblower for forming Scientific and Laboratory glass parts using Glass Lathe Machines and Lampworking. Knowledge of scientific glass blowing is required to be considered for the job. Pay range is based on experience and skill level.
Primary Function:
To form glass products using Glass Lathe Machines or Lampworking
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Form laboratory glassware using tubular glass
- Ability to setup the machine to work the glass
- Experience with various type of sealing techniques to attach glass components (Swing seal, dove seal, straight seal, dewar seal, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new jobs and techniques
- Verification of conformance of products to customer specifications
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Reading and interpreting engineering working drawings
- Knowledge of Glass and Fires
- Basic computer literacy
- Understanding of all applicable procedures, work instructions, and form
- Pay grade based on skill level and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
